Why all Hindus should visit Sri Lanka?
The epic poem Ramayana great literary work of ancient India was the story of Rama, Sita and Ravana. The story begins in Ayodhya of India and climaxed in Lankapura.
According to the Valmiki “Lanka” was an island fortress of the legendary Asura king Ravana. There are many controversies regarding the identity of the real Lanka in Ramayana among scholars. However, the present island of Sri Lanka has been traditionally recognized as Lankapura stated on the Ramayana. Traditionally Sri Lankans are believed that King Ravana was a hero-king of their nation and a scholar and the first aviator in the world. Interestingly there are communities around India whom them have worshipped King Ravana to this day as well. They believe that their god gets a bad impression from Ramayana. One lawyer in Mathura tries to make a Petition to President to stop burning Ravana effigies recently. There are some Indian scriptures that have referred to King Ravana as "Maha Brahmana", which means a great Brahmin or a great scholar.
The recent years renewed interest has been aroused on King Ravana in Sri Lanka. One government institution has requested the public to share any document they have pertaining to King Ravana. A conference was held with the participation of archaeologists, historians, scientists, civil aviation experts, and geologists regarding the evidence to prove king Ravana, the first person in the world to fly an aircraft.
However, according to Hinduism King Rama and his wife Sita was another incarnation of Lord Vishnu and his consort Goddess Lakshmi, one of the principal deities in the Hindu pantheon.
Therefore, those who believe and revere Rama and Site should come to Sri Lanka to witness around 50 Ramayana sites from the airport where the aircraft with abducted Site was landed to battlefields of the war and the place where “Vibhishana” was coroneted with the blessings of King Rama after the demise of King Ravana.
