- Kalutata stupa is a unique stupa with an entirely hollow interior, the only one of its kind in the world. It was built in the 1960s in the ground where the Portuguese was built a fort. The vast echoing interior was decorated with the 74 murals depicting various scenes from the Buddhist Jataka stories (The life story of Load Buddha)
