Is rafting dangerous?

Non-swimmers can still do the rafting? 

Many people who can’t swim do rafting trips and have great fun. The life vest and the other equipment worn in the rafting will keep you afloat in the event that you find yourself in the river. Your guide will have instructed you on how you should act in the event of fallout from the raft. Keep the faith in your guide who has professionally trained in whitewater rescue and will work accordingly with the other guide team members. 


Any chances of falling out of the boat? What should I do at that time? 

The main thing is always to stay in the boat. Your guide will instruct you on what to do if you fall in. Actually, most people love falling out of the boat. That is the thrill of rafting. In the first instance, it is disorienting and a little overwhelming. Then you used to it. It's all a part of rafting. If you have a doubt, check with the people who have taken multiple trips and never fallen in. Some people swim on their first trip and it could be the most exciting part of their trip. 


Is it possible to use a camera or video camera? 

It is not recommended to bring a camera or video camera. However, can use disposable waterproof cameras.

Kitulgala, a paradise of white water rafting in Sri Lanka


Kitulgala has located 87 km east of Colombo at the Colombo-Nuwara Eliya road. The rain forest patch at the Kitulgala adds natural beauty to the area. At the 1958 Academy Awards, eight award-winning film “The Bridge on the River Kwai” was filmed on the Kelani River near Kitulgala. However, nothing has remained now, except the concrete foundations for the bridge. The Kelani river flows through the Kitulgala. It provides the best stretch of water for white water rafting in Sri Lanka. 


 It is all about excitement, relaxation and teamwork that you will enjoy multiple sensations, the exhilaration and thrill from nature's powerful forces at work. Further, you will relish the contentment of the achievement and fulfilment of personal and team challenges met and mastered along the way. It takes about 90 minutes to complete a 6.5 km distance under the Grade 02 and 03 rapids.

Jungle Track, Rock Sliding with Confident Jump



It is about a 2 km walk. On the way, there is a natural rock to sliding into the water of the lagoon. It is an adrenaline-pumping activity with maximum fun. This activity takes approximately 2 and half hours to reach the destination and return. 

Mountain Cycling Tour – To Belilena Caves

This cycling trail through mountains, valleys, tropical rain forests, reservoirs, and remote villages reach to a prehistoric cave called “Belilena”. It was yielded human skeletons of Homo sapiens balangodensis. The carbon dating confirms the human presence of 32,000 years ago in the area.  

Water Fall Abseiling


The 30-meter height Sandun Ella waterfall which joins the Kelani river is the place for waterfall abseiling. The thrill and excitement are amazing when abseiling down the 15- meters of Waterfall.

Solo Kayaking

Paddle through the Kelani river while experiencing the flora and fauna of the surrounding lush environment. Basic training will be given before starting the Kayaking paddle.
