Lighthouses, Oluvil and Sangamankanda Point
Oluvil lighthouse was built in 1999. It was the first lighthouse built after the British colonial era.
Sangamankanda Point is the east most point in Sri Lanka. The Sangamankanda Point lighthouse was built in 1947 with a height of 7.62 m. During the 2004 Tsunami, it was destroyed and the only pillar of the lighthouse is available.
