Magul Maha Viharaya, Lahugala
- Magul Maha Viharaya in Lahugala has been identified as a Ruhunu Maha Viharaya mentioned in the inscription at the site. It is an ancient Buddhist temple constructed by King Kawantissa, ruler of Ruhunu kingdom in the 2nd century BC.
According to the legend it was built at the exact place where King Kawantissa's marriage ceremony with queen Viharamahadevi was held. The moonstone in this temple belongs to the 6th and 7th century AD is remarkable. Magul Maha Viharaya is located 19 km south of Arugam Bay.
