Nuwara Eliya station, the forgotten railway line

Nuwara Eliya station was opened to the public in August 1904. It was a main station of the Nanuoya - Ragala 19 miles narrow gauge railway line. The other stations were Black Pool, Kandapola, and Brook Side. The train journey was taken 2 and half hours from Nanuoya to Ragala through romantic tea country of the central hills when it was functioning.
Unfortunately, this railway line was closed in 1948. Remnants of the railway line and stations can be seen even today.
